Corrugated galvanized metal cisterns and
water storage tanks are available in sizes from 600 gallons to 440,000 gallons.
Hot-dipped galvanized steel components fabricated for high
strength. Steel is fabricated from 33% recycled metal. Geotextile interior liners to isolate main water liner
from steel components. Flexible membrane liner to contain
potable water inside of the tank. The water storage tank shall
be designed to store water with a density of 62.4 PCF in a seismic
zone 2B with a wind speed of 90 MPH, UBC Exposure C. Also available are elevated, cedar,
and wooden
tanks. The 0803 and smaller tanks can be shipped pre-assembled.
All tanks can be shipped. The corrugated galvanized metal
cisterns are bolt on and require assembly. The Rain Well is a
certified installer for these bolt-on cisterns.

Pump Control and Backup Water System |
|
|
Introducing the BrainBox by Munro. The BrainBox is a pump
controller, backup water controller and pump protection all in one package
specifically designed for
rainwater harvesting.
Simple and efficient, the BrainBox synchronizes source water with pump
requirements. If rainwater is available, the BrainBox uses the
stored rainwater first. If no rainwater is available, the BrainBox
utilizes a domestic or alternate water source to provide water to the pump
during a run cycle. Includes two 55 foot pigtailed float switches
with 55' cords, low pressure sensor and high temperature sensor. One float
will turn the pump off when no water is available in the cistern. The
pressure and temperature sensors are additional safety features for the
pump. The second float activates a 24V solenoid valve (not supplied)
to allow a secondary source of water to keep up with the pump and not fill
the cistern completely. The standard model is turned on by 24v signal from
a lawn controller. For the same price, models are available to operate the

Subterranean Tanks
|
|
The 500, 1400, and 1700 gallon cisterns are made to be buried and can be used for
either rainwater harvesting or grey water reclamation. Rotationally
molded, seamless, polyethylene tanks won’t rust or crack and are not
affected by chemicals. Ribbed design will support soil loads greater than
500 lbs. per square foot often seen at 3-foot burial depth. These cisterns
allow for ease of installation and handling. They are lightweight for easy
transportation and installation in the excavation. The flat bottom
makes it easier to compact bed during installation. The hold down
ledge helps keep the tank from floating. Threaded lids and
risers have a rubber gasket to provide a watertight seal and allows for a
manhole accessibility, optional 9” stackable risers make it much easier
to inspect system for pumping and real estate transactions. The low
profile tank allows for shallow excavation to meet required installation
depth. These tanks are converted to cisterns with a 4" inlet, 1-1/2" outlet,
and vent tube. These cisterns can be linked together for extra
capacity also. |

The Munro SmartBOX™ works under the
simple theory that a pressure is built up in the volute of the
pump when a pump is working at optimal efficiency. If this
pressure does not exist, there is a problem within the pumping
system.
The SmartBOX™ monitors this pressure through the use of a
pressure switch located on the discharge side of a pump. At the
beginning, or anytime during a zone cycle, if water is not
available, the pressure will drop within the pump and the pressure
switch will signal a timer to begin counting. If pressure has not
built up over the timer cycle, the timer signals the pump to
shutdown to save itself before damage occurs.
The nice thing about the SmartBOX™ is the resetting of the
pressure switch is automatic. The next watering cycle after a shut
down will have the same opportunity to build pressure. Since the
switch measures lack of pressure, as long as the pump is capable
of rebuilding and maintaining pressure, the pump will be allowed
to run normally.

8.5"x6"x5.4". The SPS-5W solar panel dimensions are
13" x 13" and is only 1/2" thick. The pump’s maximum
current is 7 amps. The pump has an automatic shut-off switch when the
pressure reaches 45 psi. The pump has a built in check-valve, is

hose fittings and a 115ACV three-prong plug. This pump is great for 115VAC pressurized water
systems in cabins. This pump can also be used for general water transfer
and irrigation. This popular model has three independent pumping
chambers. This 115 volt automatic demand pump is very popular for
applications where a 110v-120v small water pump can be used. It is
designed for multiple-fixture intermittent duty applications.
Moving parts will not travel more than 1/8 inch to reduce friction and
"wear and tear". Does not include garden valve.

SafeRain is a first flush water diverter using flow-rate (FLOW-RATE DIVERSION) as the means of diversion as opposed to
the container method (poor man's roof washer) that traps the
first flush of water in a holding chamber at some point before
the tank.
SafeRain units are attached to the pipe that feeds the
collected rainwater to the water tank or cistern tank. At the
‘normal’ setting SafeRain will divert approximately 26.4
gallons and has a range of 0-528.3 gallons (4" pipes hold 0.65 gallons/foot). A collection chamber
using 10 feet of 4 inch pipe will only divert 6.5 gallons.
The Saferain first flush unit will save time and space. The
SafeRain can divert up to 9.2 gallons per minute.
The SafeRain is now available with metric to 4" schedule
40 adapters. The adapters are recommended for potable
rainwater collection. These adapters allow for permanent
connection with PVC pipe cement. The adapters are $25 each. The
SafeRain can also be installed with 4" rubber couplings (not
supplied) instead of the adapters.

Constant Volume First Flush Roof Washer Valve Assembly ----

The first flush of rainwater coming from the roof at the
beginning of a rain storm carries all of the particles and debris from
the roof top such as bird feces and air pollution. This simple and effective roof washer
assembly diverts the
first flush into a constant volume container or PVC stand pipe. Once
the stand pipe is full, a float valve closes the stand pipe inlet and
diverts the cleaner water to the cistern. A small valve is
required that is slightly open that will allow the stand pipe to drain
slowly after the rain has subsided. The stand pipe will then be empty and
ready for the next rainfall. The 2.75 inch diameter has the flow capacity
62 gallons per minute. This equates to one inch of rainfall in ten
minutes for a 1000 sq. ft. roof area. A 2.75 inch diameter
throughput is adequate 99% of all rainfalls. If more flow capacity
is desired, a 4 inch diameter PVC flow capacity can be
achieved by placing two of these roof washers on the same down spouts in
parallel increasing the flow capacity to 124 gallons per minute.
This first flush float valve can be adapted to 3" PVC down spouts
using a 4" to 3" flush adapter on both sides of
the tee. The first flush assembly includes the float valve and
upper and lower seats to contain the ball valve in the flush cleanout
tee with cleanout plug. The assembly does not include the tee nor
the cleanout plug. The recommended standpipe capacity is
one gallon per 100 square feet of roof collection area. A 4"
PVC pipe will hold 1.3 gallons of water per two feet of length. A
6" PVC pipe will hold 1.5 gallons of water per one foot of
length. A 3/4"
garden drain valve can be used for the stand pipe drain. The
first flush float
valve assembly is sold without the constant volume stand pipe or container.

selection of rain barrels. It is a combination 55 gallon rain barrel and
planter. It is very decorative and integrates nicely with your
landscape design and home. It fits in with other planters you
will have around your home. Great for Herb gardens. Without looking closely, no one
will know its a rain barrel! It is compact and easily
shipped. The Niño has a 3/4" drain valve with garden
hose threads at the very bottom and an 1-1/2" hidden
overflow. The Niño is available in 13 colors, plus an
additional 13 colors with speckles. It is recommended to use
dark colors such as dark green and dark brown so as to inhibit the growth of algae. As you
can see by the photos, the installation is not complicated.

These FDA food grade handling products have been selected for
early retirement and look forward to new adventures! So instead
of buying new barrels and drums, purchase these to keep recycled
materials out of the land fill. These rain barrels have a
drain valve at the bottom with garden hose threads, a removable screen
lid, and an 1-1/2" internal overflow. The screened lid keeps
out mosquitoes, organic debris, small animals, rodents, birds, and large
particles. Blue is the only color available, but spray paint for
plastic is available at hardware stores. You can paint them any
color you desire! The lid can be removed to clean the inside of
the barrel. The dark blue color also provides the means to curb
algae growth! An elevated spigot can be added to fill up your
watering pail to water indoor plants. Also available are fittings
to mate several of these barrels together to increase the storage

metal, plastic, fiberglass, tubs, stock tanks, rain barrels, and recycled drums.
Ideal for 3/4" drain valves, 3/4" bucket high spigots, overflows, and rain barrel
mating. Can be used to replace worn out threads on rain barrels with
a makeshift fitting-tapped hole. Bulkhead fittings for 3/4",
1-1/2", and 2" pipe thread connections. Replace the
3/4" overflow with a higher capacity 1-1/2" or 2" bulkhead
fittings for the occasional downpour so that the rain water does not

at the cistern wall. Can be used for poly or metal cisterns. These grommets are available that mate with Schedule 40 4", 3", 2", and
1-1/2" pipes. These grommets are used for inlets and
overflows for rain
water harvesting cisterns using 6", 4", 3", 2", and 1-1/2"
inside diameter pipes. These grommets are great for
rain barrels and cisterns where there is no access to the inside of the
barrel or cistern. The 1-1/2" and 2" grommets are
suitable for smaller diameter barrels such as 55 gallon drums for overflows
and barrel mating at the top side of the rain barrel and
cistern. Shown below is an overflow connection. The
grommet size specifies the schedule 40 or 80 pipe. Use a hole
